Augusta

Sandy hair coiled coral, combing the marine; a tangled frenzy.

Barren breath like glitzy moth wings, quivering a thousand beats.

Red-raw meat humours a famished mouth,

Gone astray, hailed in the wild.

Wild! Funnily enough, Donna, the faster I read, the more it all sort of gels. Poor Augusta!

I suspect you’re into the Imagists too? My favourites include Richard Aldington and William Carlos Williams.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    • Thanks Paul. This started out as a free-write on the train, using a random picture as inspiration. Then at 2am the following morning I condensed it.

I have never heard of the imagists, are they an art movement? I will Google the names shortly 🙂

      Thank you.

Strangely yet beautifully lyrical…in between the lines… Words beyond the song..you have made the seen unseen

  4. Hadn’t read this before, must have missed it 🙂 Really simple and lovely. I nominated you for the Creative Blogger Award by the way 🙂 If you need to know the rules and everything I’ve got them all on my post: https://andywritespoems.wordpress.com/2015/04/04/creative-blogger-award-thanks/ Keep writing!!

I’m not into poetry and feel like I’m missing something. I liked ‘Augusta’ but have to admit I don’t understand it completely… must be something wrong with my wiring.

  6. Really sweet words and flow. Thanks for the read and the interest. Sspt your work is beautiful (whisper).

When I read into your words …I enjoy it like an abstract painting.Yes, that’s aesthetic of Postmodernism, the transcending of sense to significations that are new, imaginative and abstract like art and music. Anand Bose from Kerala
