Sandy hair coiled coral, combing the marine; a tangled frenzy.
Barren breath like glitzy moth wings, quivering a thousand beats.
Red-raw meat humours a famished mouth,
Gone astray, hailed in the wild.

It is all about words. Your words are enough to shatter someone's heart. Your words are enough to make a broken heart unbroken. Words have the power to change your life perspectives.

Wild! Funnily enough, Donna, the faster I read, the more it all sort of gels. Poor Augusta!
I suspect you’re into the Imagists too? My favourites include Richard Aldington and William Carlos Williams.
Cheers,
Paul
Thanks Paul. This started out as a free-write on the train, using a random picture as inspiration. Then at 2am the following morning I condensed it.
I have never heard of the imagists, are they an art movement? I will Google the names shortly 🙂
Thank you.
Absolutely loved this!
Thank you, Joseph 🙂
Strangely yet beautifully lyrical…in between the lines… Words beyond the song..you have made the seen unseen
Wow, thanks so much for your beautiful comment. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
You too…happy writing never stop believing in yourself.I provide and seek inspiration in others… And i have no doubt that i have found it……continue bwing a source of inspiration….:-);-)
Ditto, DearLife! Thank you for your inspiration and your kind words 🙂
Hadn’t read this before, must have missed it 🙂 Really simple and lovely. I nominated you for the Creative Blogger Award by the way 🙂 If you need to know the rules and everything I’ve got them all on my post: https://andywritespoems.wordpress.com/2015/04/04/creative-blogger-award-thanks/ Keep writing!!
Hi Andy. Thanks so much for reading and for the nomination, much appreciated. Happy Easter to you 🙂
I’m not into poetry and feel like I’m missing something. I liked ‘Augusta’ but have to admit I don’t understand it completely… must be something wrong with my wiring.
Hi Dan. There’s certaintly nothing wrong with your wiring! All art, writing, design, will be interpreted differently by different people; sometimes they won’t be able to interpreted it at all. The wonderful thing about poetry and flash fiction is that it is often left to the reader’s imagination.
Respectfully the reader usually has little of it – imagination – in this age of instant gratification – I adore your blog – tremendous work – ART one can sink it’s teeth into
Thank you so much for your kind words, much appreciated 🙂
https://thelighteningandthefire.wordpress.com/2015/02/09/the-soy-blues/ Use your imagination now 🙂
I have just read your poem. I like the imagery and the sense of lyric. A well written piece 🙂
Thank you
Really sweet words and flow. Thanks for the read and the interest. Sspt your work is beautiful (whisper).
Thank you so much for your kind words…they are truly appreciated. 🙂
When I read into your words …I enjoy it like an abstract painting.Yes, that’s aesthetic of Postmodernism, the transcending of sense to significations that are new, imaginative and abstract like art and music. Anand Bose from Kerala
Hi Anand Bose. Happy New Year! Thank you so much for your kind and inspirational words on this piece, it’s much appreciated. I do try to find new and deeping meanings in which to portray the Universal senses and emotions. Best Wishes. Donna
Thank you Donna.
